Wraxall Division celebrate the Kings Coronation

Units in Girlguiding Wraxall Division have enjoyed their celebrations for the coronation recently with all celebrating in different ways.

3rd Nailsea Rainbows had a stall at Nailsea’s Coronation Community Fayre which was very successful; full of visitors, fun and games. The unit also completed the Coronation Challenge badge in their May meeting – the Rainbows planted sunflower seeds to grow at home, made their own coronation spoons, held their own Commonwealth Games and played an aeroplane game.

1st Clevedon West Guides have been busy decorating the entrance lobby of Kenn Road Methodist Church with Coronation carriage decorations. These were very appreciated by the parishioners of the church who loved the bright welcome when they arrived to their own Coronation party. The Guides also enjoyed making Coronation Crispie Cakes with royal gold stars too.

13th Clevedon Brownies made collages of King Charles III and played a game of Coronation bingo.

10th Nailsea Brownies got involved in the Big Help Out and braved the wet weather to go out litter picking along with their leader and parents. They got a bit soggy but did dry out.

1st Nailsea Brownies turned detective to help out King Charles and save the coronation. They worked out lots of puzzle clues to find out who had stolen what (the Crown Jewels) from where (the Tower of London), when and where they escaped to afterwards. Then they had to work out how to unlock the robbers’ safe and save the Jewels.

1st Nailsea Guides and 6th Nailsea Guides enjoyed a Coronation task master! They had to draw the King with their non-dominant hand, make a tin foil crown, sing the National anthem and dress a Guide as a King at a coronation. They also got creative making a vino nation scene from plastercine and had to march like a soldier.

2nd Long Ashton Brownies we’re inspired by King Charles’ work with the elderly and decorated chocolate bars to be distributed at a local residential house! A few of the Brownies also took them down to Lampton House and met all of the residents. They have also sent his Majesty a card wishing him well in his reign!
